About Us

About Get Smart Therapy

Get Smart Therapy is an early intervention provider serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Our services are provided in natural environments, wherever children and families typically find themselves: home, child care environments or other community locations (parks, playgrounds, shopping centers, etc.). We provide a full range of services: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and special instruction services. We tailor these services to specifically target each child’s needs with an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Our practitioners design intervention strategies that are built around a family’s daily routines and activities. Depending upon location, Get Smart Therapy can provide all necessary services, including initial evaluations (to determine eligibility) and all IFSP authorized services, to individuals of all developmental levels ages 0-3.

Mission Statement

Get Smart Therapy’s mission is to enhance your child’s physical capacity and successfully help him or her to achieve developmental milestones in a stimulating and nurturing environment. We believe that parents and caregivers play a vital role in a child’s development. For this reason, we keep an open dialogue with you at all times. This communication allows us to work together to achieve our common goal: helping your child.

We serve families from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. It is our policy to respect your family’s beliefs and to maintain open communication with you. This enables us to preserve your trust and achieve success in meeting your child’s particular needs.

Our Service Philosophy

  • To deliver outstanding physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services to your child.
  • To ensure a family-centered approach that is based on the uniqueness of your family’s needs and its culture.
  • To promote collaborative partnerships with your family, the community, service and healthcare providers, school staff, and childcare program providers. The goal is to strengthen and enhance family competence in order to develop lasting support networks.
  • To provide service and support delivery in the most natural and comfortable setting for your child and family. Our goal is to foster opportunities for the development of peer relationships with children who do not have disabilities.
  • To reflect the currently optimal practices in the field of early intervention in order to ensure uniformity of service delivery standards while yielding the most positive outcome for your child and family.
  • To recognize and respect the knowledge, beliefs, aspirations, values, culture, and preferences of your family, which will ultimately help us to plan and provide appropriate services.
