Development Milestones
The following are milestones of child development that children typically accomplish by certain ages. If your child is having trouble reaching these milestones, contact Get Smart Therapy to determine if an Physical Therapy evaluation is necessary.
What to expect at 3 months:
- Follows objects with eyes
- Responds to sound by turning head
- Grasps objects when placed in hand
- Holds up hand and looks at it
- Swipes at toys
- Lifts to turn head from side to side when lying on stomach
What to Expect at 4 to 6 months:
- Rolls over from stomach to back
- Rolls over from back to stomach
- Pivots on tummy when lying on the floor
What to Expect at 7 months:
- Sits alone, steady
What to Expect at 9 Months:
- Crawls on hands and knees
- Pulls self up
What to Expect at 13 to 14 Months:
- Walks without help
- Climbs up on chairs or furniture
What to Expect at 15 to 18 Months:
- Runs
- Kicks a ball forward
- Has good balance and coordination
